A most prestigious Four Gable Barn, located in the SE corner of State Center, Iowa. The barn was built in the early 1900s and was in bad need of repair and the new owners did a total restoration of it, keeping the same shape, roof lines, and window placements. The windows and trim are all original, and the cedar shingle roof was also restored. New siding was put on, and beneath it all they used big chunks of limestone for the foundation as the original had done. The place is a Christmas tree farm, and across from this barn is a restored Gingerbread style Victorian house built about the same time as the original barn. It is worth a look if you are in that area,, and if you choose you can buy a Christmas tree there as well.
